AM91 Staff: Denise Washington-Blomberg

I was born on Long Island, in New York. I'm from a military family, Air Force, so I traveled a lot. I traveled in Europe and Hawaii for the most part, but my family fell in love with Colorado. All four of us. There was my father, mother, brother and me. My father passed away fourteen years ago.

I attended schools in a number of different places, as you might imagine, but my formal education was received here in Colorado. My educational background is Communications with a Broadcasting Emphasis. I have a minor in English Literature.

I've been working in media in Denver my entire career, which is over twenty years. I have worked in television and in radio. My background is primarily news and information and community affairs. I have been New Director for KUVO Radio, and KOSI/KEZW Radio. I worked on the Assignment Desk as Editor for Tribune Broadcasting, and have worked as a Producer for KBDI Channel 12. I also worked as Producer/Anchor for Channel 8 in Aurora. The Lord gave me an extensive background in media, and I never knew why, until I developed a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus and was saved. Then I knew ... all these years He was preparing me to work for Him in Christian broadcasting.

I've had several years in Christian broadcasting, and still work a little in mainstream media ... but it's evident to my heart where the Lord wants me, at least for now. I've learned something over the years. Just follow the Lord, He'll always do the right thing for you, to His Glory, and therein lies the blessing.
